Staff Tracking - Now Available
You can now see where your staff have been throughout the day, right from the Activity screen.
Head to KT School > Activity to view staff presence and movements as logged in the Point of Care app. For a specific day or date range, you can answer questions like:
- “When did my staff members acknowledge they were in or out of the classroom (mark as present/not present)?”
- “Which spaces and/or classes did my staff members occupy throughout the day?”
Need a copy for your records? You can also export staff tracking to a PDF.
Why This Matters
Many child care licensing violations trace back to staff movement: unplanned shift changes, floating staff leaving rooms unattended, sudden call-outs, and unverified substitutes. Knowing who was in which room, and when, is your first line of defense.
Program Pricing and Bundles - Now Available
Note: Available for clients using Business Level Fees and Program Flow enrollment
Program Pricing
Business level fees help reduce the number of fees that need to be maintained across a business; however, that can still lead to a number of fees available for selection when creating an enrollment. Program Pricing lets you choose which tuition rates apply to each program, so users see a shorter list of fees when creating an enrollment manually.
For example, if your business level fees cover before school, after school, and alternative programming like day off or summer care, you can select only the after school fees when setting up your after school program. When someone assigns tuition to an enrollment in that program, they’ll only see the relevant options.
Program Bundles
You can now offer bundled pricing for programs that use the Program Flow for Enrollment, giving parents a price break when they sign up for more than one program. For example, say your business offers Before School and After School. Enrolling in just one costs $50 per week, but enrolling in both costs $85 per week instead of $100.
Via Enrollment > Programs, you can configure this price break by setting up the program with your standard tuition pricing, then navigating to Bundles to select reduced pricing. Then, when a parent enrolls a child in a set of programs that matches a bundle, the fees selected for that bundle are applied to the child’s enrollments instead of the default fees chosen during Program setup.
Why This Matters
Program Bundles
Multi-program families are often your most valuable customers, and a price break is one of the easiest ways to encourage them to enroll in more than one program. Program Bundles apply reduced tuition automatically at enrollment, so there’s no manual adjusting of fees or separate pricing to track. Parents get the savings they were promised, and your team has fewer billing errors and less to oversee.
Program Pricing
The more fees a business maintains, the easier it is to pick the wrong one. Program Pricing narrows the list to only the fees that belong to each program, so staff spend less time scanning options and are less likely to assign incorrect tuition. The result is more accurate enrollments, fewer billing errors, and less oversight needed to catch and correct mistakes.
Reminder: App and Device Management
Kangarootime App Updates
Updating an app can feel like a small chore, but each new version usually does more than add features. Staying current is one of the simplest ways to keep your tools safe, stable, and useful.
As the Google Play and Apple App Store update their requirements, Kangarootime must work to keep our apps (Kiosk, Point of Care, KT Connect, KT Workforce Connect, and After School) compliant with these new standards. The longer an app goes without an update, the more likely the version will no longer be supported, and performance and stability will be impacted.
We recommend you take a moment to check the app stores on all your devices to make sure your apps are up to date, or set up automatic updates!
Device Support
Apple and Google regularly release new versions of iOS and Android, and with each release, older versions gradually fall out of support. That affects every app on the device, because apps are built on top of the operating system and depend on it to work properly.
An app is only as current as the device it runs on. Checking operating system versions regularly and planning device upgrades before support ends keeps apps secure, stable, and fully featured. It also avoids the scramble of a device becoming unusable at an inconvenient moment. For organizations managing multiple devices, a simple inventory of OS versions and a replacement schedule can go a long way.
Kangarootime app developers strive to keep our apps modern and secure, which is why we've provided our operating system recommendations below:
Supported Operating Systems:
- iOS 15 or newer
- Android 10 or newer
Supported with potential limitations:
- iOS 13-14 (experience may be impacted; support will end by the end of 2026)
- Android 7-9 (experience may be impacted)
Not supported:
- iOS versions older than 13
- Android versions older than 7
Note: iOS 16 will become the minimum in Spring 2027, or earlier.
