Wellness checks are brief, daily health and behavioral assessments performed when a child arrives at the facility to ensure they are well enough to participate and to prevent illness from spreading. The Point of Care (POC) classroom app makes it easy to document Wellness Checks for a single child or in bulk. When you take a child into custody, a Wellness Check box automatically appears with that child pre-selected.
Table of Contents:
How to Perform a Wellness Check
- Open any classroom Overview.
- In the right column, you'll see all rostered children, including those already checked in.
- Drag any child currently in your custody to the left column.
- The Wellness Check box will appear; interact with the statements as needed by tapping or not tapping the statement boxes
- Scroll down to add any comments about the check.
- Tap Continue when finished.
Applying answers to multiple children:
- Same answers for everyone? Leave all children checked.
- Different answers per child? Uncheck the others, complete one child's check, then repeat for each remaining child.
Note: If any selected children still need a check, POC will reopen the dialog and show how many remain. This continues until every child has a completed Wellness Check.
Once all checks are complete, POC automatically generates the wellness notes and custody is finalized.
