Suspend check-in for Overdue Accounts - Release Date: 5/20/2026
Upon release, you will be able to automatically prevent parents with overdue balances from checking students in or out via KT Connect and Kiosk, while keeping staff check-in fully operational. Parents will be prompted to pay their balance or speak with a staff member to resolve the hold.
What Parents Experience
Kiosk
- Students linked to an overdue account will be flagged on the check-in/out screen. Parents will be informed of their overdue balance and directed to speak with a staff member.
- Parents with access to multiple accounts will only see the overdue flag on students tied to the overdue balance; students on accounts in good standing are unaffected.
- Parents can still mark students as absent. Staff check-in remains fully available at all times.
KT Connect
Express check-in
Express check-in will be disabled entirely for any parent who is a primary contact on an overdue account. If the school doesn't use express check-in, an overdue balance banner will appear at the top of the home screen instead.
Paying the balance
Parents with billing permissions will be prompted to pay directly in the app. Tapping "Pay bill" navigates to the account home screen. Once the overdue balance is cleared, full access is restored automatically. Parents without billing permissions will be directed to speak with a staff member.
Casual bookings
Parents with an overdue balance will be unable to schedule new casual bookings until their balance is paid.
QR code check-in via Kiosk
Parents scanning a QR code from Kiosk will see the same overdue alert experience as Kiosk itself. Affected students cannot be checked in or out, and parents will need to speak to a staff member. Marking students absent remains available.
Why it matters
Collecting overdue balances has traditionally required staff to manually track who owes what and follow up individually, a time-consuming process that's easy to let slip. This feature changes that dynamic by building a natural, low-friction reminder directly into the drop-off and pick-up routine.
Less manual follow-up for staff
Rather than relying on staff to remember which families have outstanding balances and bring it up at the door, the platform surfaces the alert automatically. Staff can stay focused on the day rather than acting as bill collectors.
A built-in prompt to pay at the right moment
For parents with billing permissions in KT Connect, the overdue alert includes a direct path to pay — right then and there. Catching families at drop-off or pick-up, when they're already engaged with the app, is the most natural moment to resolve a balance.
Configurable to fit your center's approach
Not every center handles collections the same way. The ability to set your own overdue threshold and enable the feature school by school means you can roll this out in a way that matches your policies and your relationships with families, without a one-size-fits-all approach.
Students are never penalized for billing issues
Staff check-in is always available, and parents can still mark students absent. The feature creates accountability for families without ever leaving a child stranded at the door — keeping the experience firm but fair.
Subsidy Attendance Report
A new report giving you a detailed view of student check-in and check-out activity alongside subsidy agency information all in one place. Available to all businesses, whether or not you currently work with subsidy agencies.
What's included
Check-in / check-out tracking
View session-level attendance detail, including who checked the student in and out, the session type, and exact timestamps for each session.
Subsidy agency visibility
Easily identify which attendance sessions are tied to a subsidy agency and which agency is associated no cross-referencing required.
School tag filtering
Slice attendance data by school tags to focus the report on a specific location or group, making it easier to pull targeted data without exporting and cleaning up a full dataset.
Rolling 24-month data window
The report automatically includes the last two years of attendance data and refreshes on a rolling basis, so you always have historical context without any manual data management.
Why it matters
For businesses that work with child care subsidy agencies, tracking and reporting on subsidized attendance has historically meant pulling data from multiple places and reconciling it manually. The Subsidy Attendance Report brings that information together in a single, structured view.
Faster, more accurate subsidy reporting
Subsidy agencies often require detailed attendance records to verify claims. Having session-level check-in and check-out data tied directly to agency information means you can pull what you need quickly and confidently, which reduces the risk of errors or missing data when it counts most.
A clearer picture across multiple agencies
If your business works with more than one subsidy agency, keeping track of which students belong to which agency can get complicated fast. The report makes that relationship visible at the session level, so nothing gets mixed up or overlooked.
Two years of data, always ready
Audits and agency requests don't always come at a convenient time. The rolling 24-month window means historical attendance data is always available and up to date without needing to archive, export, or manually maintain records.
Ready when you are, even if subsidies aren't part of your workflow yet
The report is available to all businesses, not just those currently working with agencies. If subsidies aren't part of your model today, you still get access to the check-in and check-out details, and the report will be ready to use the moment subsidies become relevant to your business.
FTE % now available on the Enrollment Dashboard
Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) percentage is now available as a dedicated column on the Enrollment Dashboard. Staff and administrators who need FTE visibility can access it here without needing to be granted access to the Revenue tab in the Utilization report. The FTE % column is calculated based on the Full-time hours per day field. Make sure this is set before using the columns' data.
