Data Feeds - Now Available
Overview
Data Feeds enables daily exports of Kangarootime analytics models, allowing customers to incorporate Kangarootime data directly into their own business intelligence (BI) platforms.
How It Works
Kangarootime exports data to a cloud storage location of your choice, which your BI platform can then connect to directly. The following storage providers are supported:
- Google Cloud Storage
- AWS S3
- Azure Storage
Exports consist of multiple tables that make up the full suite of Kangarootime analytics models.
Note: This feature requires technical knowledge to configure. As there is no direct integration with every BI platform, the setup involves connecting your preferred cloud storage provider as an intermediary. Users are expected to have familiarity with their chosen storage platform.
Setup Requirements
To get started, an admin will need:
- An active account with one of the supported cloud storage providers
- The credentials required to grant Kangarootime write access to the desired storage location
Setup instructions are provided within the product, though a working knowledge of your storage platform is recommended. Check out our Helpsite article for configuration details!
Per Week and Per Month Fees - Feature Spotlight
Flexibility in How You Charge Families
Per Week and Per Month tuition options provide a powerful way to separate your service period from your billing cycle.
You can now configure fees to charge based on a specific service period (weekly or monthly), independent of how often you bill families. This gives you the flexibility to:
- Bill families weekly while charging a monthly tuition rate
- Maintain fewer fee line items while offering families multiple billing cycle options
- Align charges more closely with how your program actually operates
How It Works
Per Week fees generate charges for each week of service. On a monthly billing cycle, this means multiple charges will appear, one for each week in that period.
Per Month fees generate a single charge for the monthly service period. On a weekly billing cycle, this means the monthly tuition charge will be invoiced in the service period that captures the first of the month, and subsequent invoices will be sent that capture any additional charges or credits (ex. late payment fees, late pickup fees, vacation credits, etc.)
Unlike traditional flat rate fees that are tied directly to the billing cycle, per week/month fees generate tuition transactions based on the service period itself, giving you more control over how and when charges are applied.
Example Use Cases
- Charge a consistent monthly tuition regardless of whether families are billed weekly or bi-weekly
- Offer weekly programming that bill appropriately across different family billing schedules
- Reduce the number of fee configurations needed to support multiple billing preferences
