Messaging
Messaging enables administrators or office staff to send information to families through the Kangarootime business module. Families receive messages through the mobile app, KT Connect. Messaging is organized by channels, allowing staff with appropriate permissions to view and send messages without requiring an individual messaging account or shared email.

Announcements: One-way messages are sent to all Active family accounts for time-sensitive updates, such as closure reminders, deadlines, and other important notices. Incoming and Inactive family accounts do not receive announcements.
- Settings: The Announcement Messaging feature must be enabled at both the business and individual location levels.
- Staff Access: Roles with the permission level Create can write Announcement Messages.
- Family Access: Primary Contacts and any Contacts with Messaging permissions can see announcements in the KT Connect mobile app.

Accounts: Direct two-way messaging between the center and one or more specific accounts, designed for personal messages, such as billing reminders or attachments.
- Settings: The Account Messaging feature must be enabled at both the business and individual location levels.
- Staff Access: Roles with the permission level Create can write Account Messages.
- Family Access: Primary Contacts and any Contacts with Messaging permissions can see and reply to Account Messages in the KT Connect mobile app.

- Tags: Use Account tags to assist with messaging multiple accounts at once
- Status Filter: Use the status filter to message only Active or Inactive Accounts
Student Messaging
Student Messaging is a two-way messaging system that allows classroom staff to communicate directly with the Primary Contacts of scheduled students. Admin oversight is provided through the messaging admin webpage.
- Settings: The Student Messaging feature must be enabled at both the business and individual location levels.
- Staff Access: All Staff who sign in to the Point of Care app can access Student Messaging. Roles with Read Only permissions or above can also access the Student Messaging Admin webpage through the web desktop portal.
- Family Access: Only Primary Contacts can view and reply to Student Messages in the KT Connect mobile app.
Business Units Applications
- Announcements: Families with an active enrollment at a location will see Announcements
- Student Message: Messages sent by a family will be delivered to the student's currently enrolled program for that day. The student's message thread remains associated with the student and will follow them regardless of their location or program assignment.
Bulletin Boards
Bulletin Boards are an internal communication channel in the Point of Care tablet app where Staff and Admins can share information. Anyone signed into Point of Care can view Bulletin Board messages. Admins can post messages from the web portal, and staff can reply and post new messages using Point of Care.
- Settings: The Bulletin Board Messaging feature must be enabled at both the business and individual location levels.
- Staff Access: Roles with the permission level Read Only can view messages. Staff with the permission level Create can reply to Bulletin Board messages.
