Point of Care makes it easy to manage daily groups when a class temporarily splits, for example, half heading to the playground while the other half stays in the classroom. For larger programs that organize students into fixed, ongoing groups based on age, grade, or other factors, you need something more permanent. That's where School Groups come in. Within School, you can create semi-permanent groups that sync with Point of Care in the event you need to separate a large class into smaller fixed groups.
How to Create a School Group
- From School, click Classes
- Click the Groups icon
- Click New Group
- Select a class
- Specify the following:
- Group Name
- Start Location
- Start / End Date
- This will determine how long the group will remain active in Point of Care
- Active Days
- After selecting the Active Days, click Save and Continue
- Students
- A student cannot belong to two overlapping School Groups - so every student that's already been assigned to a group will not be selectable, and the following text will appear on the page: Already assigned to a group during this time
- Click Save Roster
The roster will show as Inactive until the active date. School Groups can be configured for the following day onward, giving you the flexibility to plan ahead!
How to Edit a School Group
- From School, click Classes
- Click the Groups icon
- Select the group you'd like to edit (either in Active or Inactive)
- Edit the group details (name, location, start/end date, active days, students)
- Click Save Roster
