Bulletin Boards Feature Overview

The Bulletin Board feature is a communication channel for center administrators to communicate with classroom staff. Using Kangarootime’s web desktop and Point of Care applications, staff and administrators may send messages to one another in an open channel format. Administrators may Mention a staff member for additional clarity. 

Please note: The Bulletin Board channel is center-based, administrators that wish to communicate with more than one center, will need to send a Bulletin Board communication to each Center.

How to set Bulletin Board Engagement Permissions 

Step 1: Set a Center's Permission

  1. Select Engagement
  2. Select Settings
  3. Locate the Global Center Settings table
  4. Select the Bulletin Boards toggle to the ON position OR
    1. Locate the Centers table
    2. Select the individual Centers Bulletin Boards toggle to the ON position 

Once a business has enabled the Bulletin Boards feature, permissions will need to be applied for center staff to view and respond to the messages in Point of Care and/or desktop web applications. 

Step 2: How to set Roles and Permissions for Employees using Bulletin Boards

  1. Select Configuration
  2. Select Roles and Permissions
  3. Locate the Role of the employee requiring permission
  4. Select View
  5. Scroll to the Messaging Section
  6. Select the Read-only checkmark box in the Bulletin Board Messages row for staff to view messages  
  7. Select the Create checkmark box in the Bulletin Board Messages row for staff to view and reply to messages in the Bulletin Board
  8. Select Save

How to send a message to classroom Staff

  1. Select Engagement
  2. Select Bulletin Boards
  3. Select the Center’s name  
  4. Type the staff communication message in the text box  
  5. Select the Emoji button (optional)
  6. Select the Post Bulletin button

How to send a message and Mention a staff member or classroom

(Please note: All staff members logged into the Point of Care app will see all messages and mentions. A staff member will not see a mention notification unless the Point of Care app is visibly opened.)

  1. Select Engagement
  2. Select Bulletin Boards
  3. Select the Center’s name
  4. Type the staff communication message in the text box area
  5. Select the Emoji button (optional)
  6. Select the Mention button and scroll to locate a staff member or classroom
  7. Select the checkmark box next to the staff member or classroom
  8. Select the Post Bulletin button

How to view and reply to a Bulletin Board message in Kangarootime

  1. Select Engagement
  2. Select Bulletin Boards
  3. Select the Center’s name
  4. Scroll to message
    1. Select the Reply button OR
    2. Select the More Button next to the message and Reply in Thread button
  5. Type a reply in the text box area (optional)
  6. Select the Mention button and select the staff member or classroom to mention (optional)
  7. Select the Post Bulletin button

How to view Bulletin Board messages in Point of Care

  1. Sign in to the Point of Care App
  2. Select the Message icon located in the above purple ribbon area
  3. All Messages will display in a side pop-up window
  4. Tap the My Messages button to view messages that Mention the logged-in staff member/classroom 

How to send a Bulletin Board communication in Point of Care

  1. Sign in to the Point of Care App
  2. Select the Message icon located in the above purple ribbon area
  3. Select the Post a Message text box
  4. Select the Target Message button to Mention a staff member or classroom (optional)
  5. Type a message in the text box
  6. Select the Post Message arrow icon

How to respond to a Bulletin Board communication in Point of Care

    1. Sign in to the Point of Care App
    2. Select the Message icon located in the above purple ribbon area
    3. All Messages will display in a side pop-up window
    4. Select the reply button located below the message
    5. Type a message in the lower text box
    6. Select the Target Message button to Mention a staff member or classroom (optional)
    7. Select the Post Message arrow icon

Please note: Engagement Bulletin Boards are a communication channel open to all staff using the Point of Care App. Messages sent through the channel may be seen by all staff logged into Point of Care.
