A school may add additional students to a family's account in Kangarootime. Students added to an account in error may be moved to another account and removed. A school may want to hide a student from the account when a child no longer attends their location. The following will provide information on best practices and instructions on how to add, archive and remove a student from an account.

Add a New Student to an Account
- Select Families from the navigation menu
- Select Accounts
- Select Account Name
- Scroll to the Student section
- Select +Add Another Child button
- Enter Student's First Name, Last Name
- Enter Student's Date of Birth
- Select the Relationship of the account contacts for the student from the drop-down menu
- Primary Contacts will have full privileges over the child and automatically have pick up permissions
- Select the Permitted to Pick Up check box for authorized contacts if applicable
- Select Add Child
Once a student has been added, a manual enrollment contract can be added to enroll, roster, and charge a tuition fee for the student.
Remove an Existing Student from an Account
A Student must be associated with an account in Kangarootime. A student who is created under or linked to the wrong account can be removed only if the student has not been billed under the account. Once a student has been added and billed, they cannot be removed from the account because a financial transaction has been created.
A student can be hidden or archived to minimize account confusion.
How to remove a student from an account
- Select Families from the navigation menu
- Select Accounts
- Select Account Name
- Scroll to the Student section
- Select the three-dot Action button
- Select Remove from account
- Select Remove
Add an Existing Student to an Account
Select Families from the navigation menu
- Select Accounts
- Select Account Name
- Scroll to the Student section
- Select +Add Another Child button
- Select the Existing button on the right side navigation window
- Type the child's name in the search box
- Select Relationship and Permissions (if applicable)
- Select Add Child button
The student is now added to the account. A manual enrollment contract can be added to enroll, roster, and charge tuition fees for the student.
Archive & Unarchive a Student on an Account
A student may be archived from the account page view. The archiving action does not remove a student from the account; it simply limits visibility. A student remains on an account when marked as archived to keep historical enrollment and billing records. An archived student can be switched back to display at any time. When restored, they will appear on the account page by default.
How to Archive a Student
- Select Accounts
- Select Account Name
- Scroll to the Student section
- Select the three-dot Action button
- Select Archive
- Select the Archive button to confirm
View an Archived Student
- Toggle Show Archived Children to On
How to Unarchive a Student
- Select Accounts
- Select Account Name
- Scroll to the Student section
- Toggle Show Archived Children to On
- Got to the archived student's tile
- Select the three-dot Action button
- Select Unarchive
The student will now display on the account page.
