Kangarootime offers a suite of apps designed to keep your entire program running smoothly, from the front door, to the classroom, to the palm of a contact's hand. This guide covers each tablet and mobile app, what it does, and who it’s for, along with device recommendations, operating system requirements, and internet tips to help you set up for a successful go-live. All Kangarootime apps are available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, and administrators can manage billing, enrollment, and scheduling from any browser on a laptop or desktop.

Tablet Apps
Kangarootime Kiosk: Your front-door welcome station. The Kangarootime Kiosk turns your entryway tablet into a one-stop check-in hub. Staff can clock in and out, and parents can check their children in and out, all from a single, easy-to-use screen.
Kangarootime Point of Care: Your classroom, all in one place. Kangarootime Point of Care puts the whole day in your teachers’ hands. Download it on your classroom tablets so teaching staff can manage attendance, log activities, capture photos, and more, all throughout the day.
Mobile Apps
KT Workforce Connect: Your work day, simplified. KT Workforce Connect puts everything staff need right on their phone. Clock in and out by scanning the QR code at the Kiosk, check your schedule on the go, and request time off in just a few taps. It’s an optional download, so if you’d rather skip the app, all the same features are available by logging in through any web browser.
KT Connect: Your child’s day, right in your pocket. KT Connect is the mobile app built for parents and authorized contacts, making childcare effortless. Check kids in and out in seconds, message your provider, and see daily notes and photos so you never miss a moment. Book drop-in care when plans change, and manage billing, statements, and contacts with just a few taps.
After School by Kangarootime: Run your program with confidence. The Kangarootime After School app is built for before and after school programming, putting everything staff need right in the classroom. Check children in and out, complete in-care checks, and manage your class roster from one simple mobile app. Please note that this app does not work in conjunction with Point of Care.

Admin and Office Staff Device Recommendations
Administrators will access the Kangarootime module via a web browser at k2.kangarootime.com to access K2 Business, School, Insights, Educator, and Cypherworx.
A larger screen will provide a better experience via a laptop or desktop computer, so managing your billing, family enrollment, staff scheduling, etc. will be a breeze! During implementation, a larger screen can also help, as we will use screen shares to guide you through the Kangarootime experience.
How many tablets should we have?
We recommend each classroom is equipped with at least one tablet (or phone if using the After School app), plus another tablet in the entry area for the Kiosk.
Which tablets do we recommend?
General Recommendations
Operating System Requirements - Device & Operating System Compatibility
For the best app experience, we recommend using devices with our ideal operating system versions.
- Recommended for optimal performance:
- iOS 15 (16 in mid 2027)
- Android 10 or newer
- Supported with potential limitations:
- iOS 13-14 (experience may be impacted; support will end by the end of 2026)
- Android 7-9 (experience may be impacted)
- Not supported:
- iOS versions older than 13
- Android versions older than 7
Unsupported Devices
Kangarootime apps are not supported on the following devices and may not operate reliably:
- Amazon Fire tablets
- Samsung A7
- Chrome OS (Chromebook)
- Windows 11 (when running Android apps)
While these devices may allow app downloads, we cannot guarantee a satisfactory user experience.
Notes: Per Google requirements, the minimum Android version is now 7, Apple is also ending iOS 13-14 support in 2027, so these versions will soon no longer be supported.
Device Size
Consider the user experience for both staff (point of care + kiosk) and parents (kiosk). Our standard recommendation is a 10-inch or larger device.
When should we have tablets on site?
Have the tablets on site and configured no later than a week before your “go-live” so that teachers have time to
practice using them.
Internet Recommendations
Do I need any special internet configuration?
A solid internet connection keeps software and apps running smoothly by allowing them to load data, sync changes, and communicate with servers in real time, which prevents lag, errors, and lost work. The same applies when using Kangarootime apps, where an unstable connection can interrupt your workflow.
We recommend that you run an internet speed test in all areas of your facility to ensure there is stable connectivity throughout. There are several free services, like speedtest.net, to help you assess this. Work with your network provider and have access points installed to ensure all areas have stable connectivity.
