Kangarootime makes it easy to store and share the educational content teachers and leaders within your business use every day! This article provides the steps needed to configure your education settings to ensure sharing is easy and seamless. Settings within the Education feature allow you to store general information related to the programs and subjects within your curriculum and center, create custom groups, set access permissions for individuals, and store the learning standards of federal, state, local, and curriculum guidelines.

General
This area houses all educational programs and subjects offered by the curriculum and center. In adding programs and subjects, you are adding the foundational pieces needed to build lessons and provide detailed educational notes from teachers to parents.
How to add Programs:
- Select +Add Program
- Enter the Name
- Select Save
How to add Subjects:
- Select +Add Subject
- Enter the Name
- Select a Color
- Select Save
Groups
This area displays all default groups made available by Kangarootime and the number of people included in the group. A person is included in a default group by the role, center, and state they have been assigned in Kangarootime. Within this area, custom groups are easily created and managed. Once created the permissions and access to educational content will be assigned within the Permission tab.
How to create custom groups:
- Select +Add Group
- Enter the Group Name
- Enter the Group Description (optional)
- Expand the list of Group Members
- Select existing groups and/or individuals
- Select Save
Permissions
This area houses the areas of added educational content that can be managed by various users depending on the permissions assigned in this setting. By default, Account Owners of a business and/or center have access to all areas of education for management. The Account Owners then assign groups or individuals to permissions.
How to assign permissions:
- Select Edit
- Select the Group, Groups, or Individuals
- Select Save
Standards
This area houses the learning standards, domains, subdomains, and outcomes as set by federal, state, local, and curriculum guidelines. Once entered in Kangarootime, standards and outcomes will be available to be included in lesson planning, educational experiences, and educational notes. We've provided a terminology table to ensure you easily align your learning standards to the Kangarootime area.

How to enter standards:
- Select + Add Standards Set
- Enter the Name of the Standard Set in use
- Enter the Age Range include all age ranges enrolled in the center
- Select +Add Age Range
- (This is necessary to ensure that the domains and outcomes for various age ranges are included within the same standard)
- Select Save
- Select the newly created Education Standard
- Select +Add Domain
- Enter the Name
- Select Save
- Select the newly created Domain
- Select +Add Subdomain
- Enter the Name
- Select Save
- Select the karat within the newly created Subdomain
- Select +Add Outcome
- Enter the Outcome Text
- Select Save
- Repeat steps 7 through 17 for each age range.
